Brombles

I love living in Pembrokeshire; the beaches, the open spaces, the quietness of nature and the colours that constantly surround us here.

I have always been creative & started making things to sell a long time ago but my normal 9 - 5 office job took priority as it was a more stable income. But that’s not everything & I was getting more & more disheartened with spending so much time doing a job I didn’t enjoy so decided to try & grow my business. During lockdown I managed to work on a few ideas that had been floating around my head for years but just not had the time & gave myself a kick up the behind & am looking forward to doing more paintings & expanding my product range further.  I love using natural products. I find them a lot more tactile & am conscious of the negative effect we have on the environment a lot of the time.  I do try to minimise my plastic waste & I hardly ever buy plastic toys for my little one! I use green renewable energy, try to limit my car use & buy items that are made out of natural materials.

I have high standards & take my time with all the items I produce & I really hope at least some of this comes across in my brand as that’s what is important to me.

By buying my products you will not only get an ethical & sustainable product that lasts, but are also supporting a small local business, so thank you to all my customers; past, present & future! - Alex - founder of Brombles

Why Soul Creature loves Brombles...

Alex uses organic cotton woven in GOTS certified mills resulting in a fairer wage for workers and no child or forced labour. Organic cotton requires less land irrigation, and consequent water wastage than traditional cotton production. It also means that no pesticides or other harmful chemicals have been used to grow the cotton. Alex hand stamps all her fabric at home in Pembrokeshire and even uses her fabric offcuts for stuffing her other products!
